The Englewood Fire Department recently partnered with Dwight Morrow High School and the Academies at Englewood to take part in their Senior Internship Experience Program. The program is an interactive learning partnership through which students increase their knowledge and abilities in a selected profession under the guidance of mentors. Our 2017-18 interns, Karl Monval and Orane Evans, will trade their school gear for fire gear and report to Fire Headquarters every Thursday for the remainder of the school year. The two interns will be immersed in all aspects of daily life in the Fire Department including training with firefighters and responding to actual fire calls and emergencies, to observe the many ways in which firefighters serve the public. The Department views this as an excellent opportunity for young people to explore the possibilities of pursuing a career in public safety.
